Welcome to the Taxonomy of Obvious Ideas project. We are a community-contributed database of simple building blocks for software systems. We are in the process of implementing an object model for submitting and categorizing algorithms, subroutines and functions in a variety of programming languages, and for building complex systems out of various arrangements and permutations of these.

Only original submissions will be accepted, and to be published in the database submissions MUST be released under one of several free-software style licenses that will be made available for this purpose. Our entire reason for existing is to preserve as much of the idea space as possible for the public domain. By opening submissions to the general public and publishing them under Free (as in speech) licenses, we hope to keep as much of the idea space as possible from becoming the private intellectual property of any one entity.

Please check back often as we build our own system here. Shortly, you will be able to register as a contributor and start making your contributions.
